  • Installation on Windows from drive other than destination drive

    Just wanted to note:

When installing tcServer-6.0.20.C-GA-devedition-PREVIEW, if the 'destination' specified is on a different drive than the one you're running the installation from, Installation appears to work (console output) however the installation does not work.

    Example:

    tcServer-6.0.20.C-GA-devedition-PREVIEW.tgz unpacked to:
    Code:
    d:\installs\tomcat
    Code:
    c:\> mkdir c:\programs\tomcat
    c:\> d:
    d:\> cd \installs\tomcat\
    d:\installs\tomcat> install
    ...
when prompted for 'Location to install tc Server Application Server', c:\programs\tomcat is entered

the installation proceeds, however after install, c:\programs\tomcat\ is empty.

If the same is done with tcServer-6.0.20.C-GA-devedition-PREVIEW.tgz unpacked to the same DRIVE as the destination (C, in this case):
    Code:
    C:\installs\tomcat
Installation proceeds and c:\programs\tomcat\ is now populated.

    Thanks!

Thanks Jase for the heads-up. I think I filed this as a bug internally a while back. I will double check, and see if the fix is in our next release.
