  • tomcat-users.xml Overwritten on startup

I am running the server via STS.

I wish to enable the manager application and edit tomcat-users.xml accordingly.

However, the file is continually overwritten on server startup (thus removing the manager entry) which is pretty annoying.

The tomcat-users file is located as below:

    C:\springsource\vfabric-tc-server-developer-2.6.1.RELEASE\Instance2\conf\tomcat-users.xml

The server is configured in STS as "Use tc server installation".

Any suggestions how to enable the manager once-and-for-all!

    Thanks.

    This is really annoying.

Why is the tomcat-users.xml file continually overwritten?

I have this issue on two sperate STS installations.

You need to change the tomcat-users.xml under the Servers -> VMware tc Server-config. The data in there is what is written when using tc Server through STS.
