  • Populating bean in flow scope with request parameters

    I have a java bean representing a Product used throughout a flow. On some view states in the flow, there are fields which allow the user to update certain fields. The action methods to which these views transition get the bean from request scope (bound with values from the form) and use these to update the bean at flow scope.

    Is there a way I can have the binder operate on the flow scope bean directly?

    I don't quite understand why your form object need to be in two different scopes. However, if you form object is going to get manipulated through out your flow, just set the scope to flow.

    For example,

    setFormObjectScope (ScopeType.FLOW);

      The FormAction that comes with SWF basically takes care of "binding and validation", as you know it from SpringMVC. Check the JavaDoc (http://static.springframework.org/sp...ormAction.html) of that class for more info and check e.g. the "sellitem" sample which illustrates it's use in a wizard like scenario.
