  • webflow-config.xml wrongly expects a start-state element

    Hi there,

Using the latest STS 2.3.2, we have a project structure as follows:

    src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/spring

Inside we have a webflow-config.xml, STS complains that there is a missing element start-state, which to my knowledge is not supposed to be placed here.

Also, I have been informed that even in the actual flow xml files the start-state is not now mandatory as the first defined flow is picked as the start.

I have included our XML file definitions header:

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
    	xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    	xmlns:webflow="http://www.springframework.org/schema/webflow-config"
    	xmlns:p="http://www.springframework.org/schema/p"
    	xsi:schemaLocation="
               http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd
               http://www.springframework.org/schema/webflow-config http://www.springframework.org/schema/webflow-config/spring-webflow-config-2.0.xsd">
    Thanks

    R

Are you certain that it complains about this file?! This is only the webflow configuratio it isn't a flow definition, the start-state is only applicable for a flow definition not an applicationcontext xml file...

      Hi Marten,

This is exactly my point and why I am surprised that it gives an error

Yes I am certain it complains about this file, I have attached a screenshot showing the issue.

      Thanks!

Sorry, the forum has decided to resize the image to an indecipherable size but you can take my word for it!

          Hi Marten,

Are you able to replicate this?

          Regards,

          Richard
