  • Named Converters are deprecated. But how to do now?

    Hi all,

    I have the following scenario:

    I have a class A that has a field 'foo' of type Z. Up to now I registered a named converter and made something like:

    <binder>
    <binding property="foo" converter="myConverterName" />
    </binder>
    (where the view had a model object of type A.

    I have a JSF page where the converter converts the information of type Z into a JSF SelectItem object that can then be showed in a selectItems list.

    In the Spring documentation it says that these named converters are deprecated in favor of the Spring 3 type conversion.
    But there is no migration path described that tell me how I can make my case the new way. Spring 3 type conversion does not support named converters.

    Does anybody have a hint?

    Regards,
    Florian
