  • Flex as view componenet with Springs MVC

    Hi All,

We have an existing application which used spring-MVC,Hibernate as ORM and jsp as the view component.
We want to redo the UI using Flex. Basically, use Flex as the view component.

It will be great if I can get clarifications on few questions.(With or without using blazeDS 1.0.0. M2)
    1. Can I forward the control to a Flex swf file from the controller?
    2. Should I only forward the control to a jsp in which Flex swf file is embedded?
    3. How will I pass the model object into the Flex swf domain?
    4. Can I interpret the model object(java object) in the Flex swf domain?

Please let me know your thoughts on these.

    Many Thanks!!

    Hi,

I'm not an expert in Flex/Spring/BlazeDS design but currently I do not use SpringMVC's models and views, but only a bean (a controller I think in the spring mvc terminology) which handles RPC calles from the flex client
    Basically
user download the swf (flew client)
then you flex app communicates via RPC. RPC calls are handled by your bean which returns data objects usefull for your app. So all the UI is done on the client side.

    check the Spring/BlazeDS examples!
