  • Help to get mvc-basic application running

    Hello!

I want to run the mvc-basic example on the SVN repository
    https://src.springframework.org/svn/...les/mvc-basic/

I installed SpringSource Tool Suitte (STS) and I downloaded Tomcat. With the SVN I get the source of the project into my workspace.

Then I create a new Tomcat server in the Server tab of STS/Eclipse.

Starting Tomcat I get this 404 message:
    Code:
    HTTP Status 404 - /

    type Status report

    message /

description The requested resource (/) is not available.
    Apache Tomcat/6.0.29
I thought I have to display a Tomcat welcome page? And how can I deploy the mvc-basic application?

Basic questions, I know, but perhaps someone can help me? I developed only in my studies Java SE applications, so no Tomcat and such things.

Thank you in advance & Best Regards.

    I need to change to
"Use Tomcat installation (takes control of Tomcat installation)"+
in the Overview -> Server locations tab.

But how can I deploy the application mvc-basics?

    Best Regards.

I am also wondering the same thing. I downloaded the SpringSource tool suite. I also installed Subclipse so that I can pull the example from the SVN. I am not exactly sure how to deploy the application though. I am assuming that I can use the vFabric tc Server Developer Edition that comes bundled with the tool suite. Any tips to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
