  • AbstractController: get Expires header on resin 2.1.14

We have a controller which extends AbstractController and implements LastModified and have a getLastModified(...) method.

    The following is from

"when you want a controller to generate a caching directive in the HTTP response, specify a positive integer here. By default it is set to -1 so no caching directives will be included."

Just to be sure we have set cacheSeconds to -1.

On resin 3.0.9 the caching related headers seems to be as expected, but on resin 2.1.14 we get a Expires header which we didn't expect to be there since cacheSeconds is set to -1.

    The headers are as follows:

    resin 3.0.9

    Server: Resin/3.0.s041002
    Etag: "AAAAQR66c5A"
    Last-Modified: Tue, 14 Jun 2005 12:54:00 GMT
    Content-Language: en-US
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1
    Transfer-Encoding: chunked

    resin 2.1.14

    Server: Resin/2.1.14
    Etag: "AAAAQSGm88Y"
    Last-Modified: Thu, 16 Jun 2005 19:24:15 GMT
    Content-Language: en-US
    Expires: Thu, 16 Jun 2005 19:25:38 GMT
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1

Anyway... the headers seems to be different when running the same application in resin 2.1.14 and resin 3.0.9. Strange?

Config: Spring 1.2.1 and java 1.4.2_07 on osx 10.4.1.
