  • Saving field state after validation fails

    Hello!

I'm wondering if you guys could give me some pointers.

I have a form and validation. When validation fails the page shows errors, but the fields have become empty and the user has to refill everything from start. I want to make so that the correct fields save their state (except let's say password field, it should be empty again even if form valitation error was somewhere else).

Currently I am using SimpleFormController. What method could I use for my goal? Or any other ideas are welcome how to go about this problem.

    Hi,

you are on the correct path by using the simpleformcontroller(SFC), typically this is used if you have a form and would want to bind to a command object,
the SFC supports validation through a validator,
you would have to use the spring form tags for you to enable showing of validation errors.

do post you controller configuration, validator and the jsp's.
