  • Best practice for combining Wizard and standalone forms

Hi guys, I'm relatively new to Spring MVC so wanted to run an idea via the experts.

I am writing some admin screens/forms that will let me peform CRUD operations on some business obejcts. The actual business objects aren't that important.

Imagine the graph of controllers I have for administering as follows:

    Root (wizard entry point)
    |
    |__> Controller1
    |
    |__> Controller2
    |
    |__> Controller3
    |
    |__> Controller4

I would like to have the ability to go in and edit say, Controller2 *or* edit the root object and then have a wizard take me to Controller1, then Controller2 and so on..

I notice that the JPetStore example included in the code samples for 2.5.3 include an OrderFormController class which extends AbstractWizardFormController logic and uses the Validators to perform any business logic.

Is my idea easy to configure with Spring MVC? Basically, I need to have calls to certain services kicked off when I submit the form. (Which will either correspond to a SimpleFormController sumbission in 'standalone mode', or a page transition in 'Wizard mode.'

    Thanks in advance,

    James
