  • Proper way to init a webapp from DB?

    Hi,

<insert generic excuses for being a newbie on webdev and Spring MVC >

Some of my Webapps layout configuration is stored in a DB.
An example would be the filename of the css-stylesheet
to use. I'm using Spring MVC and Freemarker to render my views.

How would I load (and reload!) the configuration for my webapp? I did some experimenting with a loader servlet which stores all layout-config stuff into the ServletContext, but this didn't work out very well...

Is there a pattern or sth similar, how I could get my config from DB with Spring and store it in an application wide context, so every Freemarker-Template can be rendered with it?

    TIA!

    Greeting
    Jens
