  • Newbie help with Jar Files

    Hello everyone, just started programming in java and java spring. In java spring I been reading that using tag
    Code:
    <http auto-config='true' use-expressions="true">
    applies a log in form. In my web.xml I have the following code

    Code:
    <filter>
      <filter-name>springSecurityFilterChain</filter-name>
      <filter-class>org.springframework.web.filter.DelegatingFilterProxy</filter-class>
    </filter>
    When I start tomcat I'm getting the following error:
    HTML Code:
    SEVERE: Exception starting filter springSecurityFilterChain
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/logging/LogFactory
    I'm assuming it has something to do with the .jar files. I placed the spring jar files in the location WEB-INF/lib still got the error. I tried multiple locations but still no luck. Has anyone ever run into this before, or have any suggestions?

    Have you tried to add to your classpath Commons Logging jar?
