  • The requested resource (/myApp/WEB-INF/jsp/.jsp) is not available

    I'm putting together a small app to learn @MVC. I've been following the example from Spring Recipes. I've run in to a problem that seems simple but after trying many, many different things I can not figure out what is wrong.

    The message I get from tomcat when I send a request is:

    The requested resource (/myApp/WEB-INF/jsp/.jsp) is not available

    from: myApp-servlet.xml

    <bean id="internalResourceResolver"
    class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.Intern alResourceViewResolver">
    <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/jsp/" />
    <property name="suffix" value=".jsp" />

    @RequestMapping(params = "command=GETVERSION")
    public class GETVERSIONController {

    private VersionService versionService ;

    @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.POST)
    public String getVersion(Model model) {
    String version = versionService.getVersion() ;
    model.addAttribute("returnString", version);
    return "SingleStringResponse";

    Some of the things I've looked at:
    Debug statements show that the getVersion() method is processing the request.

    From the message in the Catalina log it looks like the ViewResolver is being correctly instantiated.
    INFO: Pre-instantiating singletons in [email protected]: defining beans ... ,org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalReso urceViewResolver#0,...

    I appears as if the view name "SingelStringResponse" never makes it to the ViewResolver, hence the view name myApp/WEB-INF/jsp/.jsp.

    I've run out of things to try. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
