  • Multiple views, single command object

    Hello,

I'm pretty sure someone has figured this out before so Im hoping you can help.

Bascially, I have several pages and each page will take some user input. As each page retrieves user input it will update my DepartureCommand object with the relevant data from the request. I will have several controllers that will basically map to its respective JSP.

    JSPs in order:

    departures.jsp
    destinations.jsp
    results.jsp

So user enters some departure information, submits, DeparturesController updates my DepartureCommand with some data. Then I want go to destinations.jsp, take some user data, want to update the same DepartureCommand from the DestinationsController.

How can I do this ?

Can I do it without depending on the session?

    Thanks

Have you taken a look at the AbstractWizardFormController?

You need to save state which spans multiple requests. This is exactly what the Session is for. Is there any reason why you are against using the session?
