  • Struts plugin: programmatically add bean definitions

    Hi,

I am currently using Spring to manage my Struts actions and accordingly have an action-servlet.xml defined with beans (that require injections) matching the actions I have defined in struts-config.xml.

I am attempting to write a plugin to auto configure & populate the XmlWebApplicationContext which is inserted into the servlet context by the Spring ContextLoaderPlugIn.

The aim is, based on some rule, the beans are auto-magically inserted into the context thus alleviating the need to manually edit the definitions in action-servlet.xml.

However, I am at a loss trying to figure out how to add beans to an XmlWebApplicationContext programmatically.

Is this possible? Any help is much appreciated.
