I'm currently debating whether to create a WS CL or CF. I know what Spring's general stance is on the matter, but I do have some points in favor of CL:

    - It's a closed project. I'm designing the only client.

    - The WS domain model maps directly to the JPA domain model. I don't relish maintaing separate classes (albeit the WS ones will be generated) when I could create one set with JPA and JAX-WS annotations that will do the job.

This is the first Spring WS I've created, and so I'm not sure if I'm clinging to old ways or if I have a valid case.

One question I have is whether or not Spring-Security can protect a WS that is CL?

    Thanks!

I'm just wondering why are you using Spring Security to secure your Spring-WS? Aren't you supposed to use WS-Security?
