  • WSDL question

    The PM of the project I'm working on discovered that the WSDL generated produces one part for a message. Is is possible with Spring-WS to generate or use custom WSDL that includes multiple parts per message? In other words, instead of:

    Code:
    <xs:element name="fromXSD">
      <xs:complexType>
        <xs:sequence>
          <xs:element name="username" type="xs:string"/>
          <xs:element name="password" type="xs:string"/>
        </xs:sequence>
      </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <message name="ARequest">
      <part name="parameter" type="fromXSD"/>
    </message>
    this:
    Code:
    <xs:element name="username" type="xs:string"/>
    <xs:element name="password" type="xs:string"/>
    <message name="ARequest">
      <part name="username" type="tns:username"/>
      <part name="password" type="tns:password"/>
    </message>

    No, that's not possible, because that would not be WS-I compliant.

      Which spec? WS-Basic 1.0? 1.1? I'm interested so that I can provide to the PM documentation that proves the direction he'd like to go isn't recommended. Thanks for the help.

        Yes, Basic Profile 1.1. See http://www.ws-i.org/Profiles/BasicPr...ings_and_Parts, item R2201.
