  • WebLogix 9.2 w/ Woodstox Issue

I've seen another post the same issue, but that thread got confused with other issues without resolving the underlying problem.

I am attempting to utilize a Spring Web Services Client w/ Jibx as my Marshaller. I'm utilizing Woodstox as my Stax Parser. Apparently WebLogix 9.2 includes it's own incompatible Stax parser.

When I attempt to deploy my application I get the following exception:
    Code:
    java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ctc.wstx.stax.WstxInputFactory
    	at javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory.newInstance(XMLInputFactory.java:136)
    	at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppHelper.addListenerElements(WebAppHelper.java:244)
    	at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppHelper$IOHelperImpl.parseXML(WebAppHelper.java:224)
    	at weblogic.descriptor.DescriptorCache.parseXML(DescriptorCache.java:324)
    	at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppHelper.registerTagLibListeners(WebAppHelper.java:174)
Truncated. see log file for complete stacktrace
    I've attempted the following:
-Bundling jsr173_api.jar and wstx-asl.jar and setting prefer-web-inf-classes to true.
-Including the above mentioned jars in front of weblogic's classpath...

Neither of these methods is working. Any ideas?

The same problem was described but not resolved in this thread:
    http://forum.springframework.org/showthread.php?t=29867

    Thank you,

    Andrew

Have you tried giving a preference to the web jars in your weblogic.xml?

      Arjen,

Yes...that's what the prefer-web-inf-classes = true is about. It bypasses the normal classloader hierachy and will give preference to definitions found in web-inf/lib and web-inf/classes. Unfortantly, that did fix it. I still get the ClassCastException.

Sorry, didn't see that first time.

Did you see this: http://forums.bea.com/bea/message.js...05929&tstart=0 ?

That thread seems to be related to the problem you're having
