  • Changing URL in CommonsHttpMessageSender

I am trying to use Spring Web Services on both the client and server side. I am having trouble with the client side at the moment. Our use case is a little different than the echo example in that we can't hard code the URL in advance. The URL is entered by the user at runtime.

I've experienced a few problems trying to get this to work. You can't define a CommonsHttpMessageSender bean in an applicationContext.xml file without a URL. This will get flagged at startup. You can provide a default URL and then try to override this at runtime by calling the setUrl method, but this does not seem to have any effect.

Does anyone have any idea how I can set the Url at runtime?

There is no way to do this yet, unfortunately. Could you create a JIRA issue for this?
