  • SOAP 1.2 questions.

    I have few questions.

    1. When creating a web service from a WSDL file, which of the fault fields in SOAP 1.2 should be set by the web service?
    2. Are they any best practices on the content for the reason and detail fault fields and others as necessary.
    3. For a case when a field has validation error as determined by the application code, should the error be sent back in the WSDL fault field or in the body of the response?. An example is when the updated field is outside the range of the acceptable values.
    4. How should a response for an update request be handled when the response does not return any fields and the operation I successful.
    5. What guidelines are there for handling an unexpected errors from a web service implementation, such as an unexpected java exception.

    Thanks in Advance.

Sorry for not getting to this sooner. We are in the process of moving to StackOverflow for our forums.

This question is probably a better candidate for StackOverflow, perhaps against the #spring-ws tag. If you do post it there, please reply here with the link. Thanks!
