  • Spring webservice and other similar frameworks

I have a web application that's been developed using Spring. Now I need to add webservice to it. Since I am already using Spring, I am inclined to using Spring's built-in webservice. I have already explored Apache Axis2 but it is not elegant integration. So I want to know
    • What webservice framework you guys use with Spring?
    • How does it compare with other webservice frameworks like Apache CFX? I am going to transfer binary data mainly.

Try to answer your questions -

    1) You can use Spring-WS framework in your case (You don't need any other SOAP framework to use Spring Web services, though it can use some of the features of Axis 1 and 2.)
    2) It'll provide better integration undoubtedly with your existing Spring web application in comparison with Apache Axis2/CFX
    3) The services developed by Spring-WS framework easily transfer binary data in practical projects
