  • Can't refer Spring classes in Spring Project

    hi
i am using STS, i create Spring project from Project Wizard. my project icon is showing that decorative 'S'. it means it has spring nature. but when i am trying to refer any spring classes in my util, it gives me the error that it can't fine the class. what else i have to do?

    shahnazkhan,

adding the Spring nature or using the Spring Project wizard will "only" create a project that has the Spring tooling enabled. This will not install any Spring libraries on the project's classpath.

This is by design, as we don't want to enforce any of the various Spring versions on our users. It is your decision which version and what jars you want to include on your project.

If you'd like to use a more opinionated Spring project wizard, you can try out the Spring Template Project wizard that comes with STS. This will use Maven to automatically add required Spring jars and their dependencies to your classpath.
