I'm getting the following errors when running tests or the app - any ideas of the cause?

    Thanks

    Steve,

I'm not a Grails expert but it seems to me that you are not running a Sun JDK (maybe OpenJDK on an linux distro) and Grails requires the native2ascii from Sun.

You can try a Sun JDK to get around this issue or disable the native translation by putting "grails.enable.native2ascii=false" in your grails-app/conf/Config.groovy.

Let me know if that helps.

my JAVA_HOME is set to C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_11

I'll try that setting though and check back

      (I'm running Windows 7... unfortunately - lol)

        Steve,

can you check what is in your STS.ini. Especially the -vm option is of interest.

ok, setting that to false did work for me.

          grails.enable.native2ascii = false

          ---

          Here is my STS.ini

          -vm
          C:/Program Files (x86)/Java/jdk1.6.0_11/bin/javaw.exe
          -startup
          plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.201.R35x_v2009071 5.jar
          --launcher.library
          plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_1.0.2 00.v20090519
          -product
          com.springsource.sts.ide
          --launcher.XXMaxPermSize
          256M
          -showsplash
          com.springsource.sts
          --launcher.XXMaxPermSize
          256m
          -vmargs
          -Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.5
          -Xms40m

          Thank you

By the way, I created a new grails app - first through console, then imported it into STS. I didn't have this problem and didn't have to change any conf settings.
