  • Creating Plain OSGi bundles using STS

I am fairly experienced in OSGi and Spring but not Spring DM or STS

I am trying to use STS to create several bundles. First things first.....

Do I use the eclipse PDE to create bundles or do I use the New Project wizard "SpringSource dm Server --> Bundle Project" ?

The tutorials use PDE but it appears the "SpringSource dm Server --> Bundle Project" is superior since you can get it to manage the dependencies between bundles for you (the import and export packages in the manifest)

I have tried using this method but have hit several dead ends where some exports in one bundle project were simply not recognized as an import in another bundle project even though they are listed as possible package imports by the manifest gui. I am wondering if their are known issues.

    Any pointers would be great.

Basically we have a lot of plain old OSGi bundles (POOB - it might catch on you never know :@) ) and would like to use STS as our dev environment where we can start to introduce Spring DM bundles.
Working...
