  • Spring-IDE and metrics?

    Hi,

is there somewhere in roadmap of Spring-IDE a feature to include calculation of metrics?

Actually I use metrics.sf.net to calculate metrics in eclipse.

Problem is (for example) calculating McCabe-Cyclomatic-Complexity. I got "fake" results because it includes calcultation about getter and setter methods typical of spring-bean-injection and not about real "logic" of my single class. It seems that "metrics" plugin is not configurable about that, while spring-ide has "right reflection" about getters/setters.

Probably with getters and setters annotation in spring 2.5 this problem disappares, but could be an idea for a spring-ide extension?

    Thanks,
    Julio

    Hi,

We haven't thought about added metrics calculation to Spring IDE until yet. You might want to create feature request in Spring IDE's JIRA. If there is enough community feedback for this, we could consider adding this kind of feature.

    Give it a go....

but bean-graph by springIDE does it express a "metric" concept?

Can I consider a bean a entering lines a kind of "fan-in" and exiting lines a kind of "fan-out" for classes in OO?

        Thanks,
        Julio
