  • IBM RAD6 error: Unable to connect to host: www.springframework.org

I'm using IBM RAD6, which is Eclipase based of course. It's driving me bonkers that I get an error message in my applicationContext.xml Spring Config file on the following line in the XML:

    <!DOCTYPE beans PUBLIC "-//SPRING//DTD BEAN//EN"

The error message, which occur in the IDE is: "Unable to connect to host: "www.springframework.org".

I can't find anything by googling or in the IBM RAD6 help system to explain how to stop this. I had it in another project a while back and the error message finally stopped but I don't know why it stopped. The project still runs okay when I fire it up in the IBM Application Server, but it's very annoying to have a RED warning appearing all the time in design mode.

    Tx,
    Robert

    The Solution

Funny how posing the questino can focus the mind.
Here's the solution for IBM RAD6:

    1) Preferences
    2) Web and XML
    3) XML Catalog
    4) New...

    5) Type the following (of course the URI will be different. Note it has to be a file within a project in the workspace):

    URI: platform:/resource/vmocc12/JavaSource/spring-beans.dtd
    Key Type: Public ID
    Key: -//SPRING//DTD BEAN//EN
