  • How the heck do you use the Spring IDE in the real world?

The guide at spring ide site simply sucks.
Is there a real world kinda example that teaches one to use the IDE for making a JEE application.
I looked around but did not see a step-by-step tutorial to do everything I do now via notepad for spring(like hooking up Hibernate, struts for front-end etc)
Is there a link I missed?

    Maybe Spring framework's documentation...

    Hello,

Sorry you didn't find your way through the documentation of SpringIDE.
Though this documentation is quite comprehensive about how to use your spring configurations in a java or non-java project, it's not the place to look for helpers on how to use Spring framework in general.

Spring IDE is not (for now) a tool providing helper for each and every possible use of the Spring framework, but mostly aimed at helping users with configuration.

Plus most of the times, the struts-config.xml and hibernate.cfg.xml files (if needed) are dealt with other tools...

integrating with struts is the matter of a few lines in the struts-config.xml configuration,
    see http://static.springframework.org/sp...on.html#struts

integrating with hibernate is also a matter discussed in Spring's documentation :
    see http://static.springframework.org/sp...#orm-hibernate

But if you have ready-to-use helpers for these purposes, don't hesitate and contribute them through the ticket system of SpringIDE's website.

    Cheers

    Pierre-Antoine.
