  • STS launch in Linux

I have Spring STS downloaded to Linux, but the STS exe will not open/launch.

Are there a few checks I can go through?

I had it running on the previous Ubuntu installation (12.10).

Is there an article I can refer to for this?

    Hey David!

What exactly is not working? Is the installer not working or STS itself (after installation)?

If STS itself is not starting, can you take a look at the configuration folder inside the STS installation to see if there is a log file maybe?

If the installer doesn't start, I would suggest to download the tar.gz version (from the STS download page: http://www.springsource.org/sts) and use that instead. Maybe that helps.

    HTH,

      Martin,

I discovered the problem. I thought I had the correct version of download, however I needed to get the one that was not the 64-bit. I have two PC's. The one that I have Linux on is 32-bit. So this is now resolved.

      I appreciate the reply Martin.
