  • Objects not being automatically compiled on editting

    Hi;

    GGTS 3.2.0 Oracle Jdk 6-39 Windows 7

I am forced to stop-start the run-app command everytime I make a change in this new install of GGTS. I have had no issues on previous installs on my Ubuntu machine - this install is on my new Win7 laptop.

Any tips would be appreciated - I am getting REALLY tired of having to cycle the server.

    thanks
    -Bill

    Tested the basic functionality

Just a note that I just now created a simple java "hello world" class and it compiled and ran without error, so it isn't the underlying compiler.

      More information

I'm not sure anybody is listening, but:

I find the IDE is behaving correctly when I "run-app" from the Eclipse Run As-> Grails Command (run-app) but not from the Grails command history "widget" in the menu bar.

Thanks for the feedback. What version of GGTS were you using before the upgrade and what version of Grails? What version of grails now?

Thanks for getting back to me, Andrew. Actually this is a brand new Windows install of GGTS 3.2.0 shipping with grails 2.2.1 on a brand new machine.

My previous experience was on a different machine.

                  On the Ubuntu box: 1.3.6, 1.3.7, 2.0, 2.1
On the Windows box: just 2.1.1

Also - each box has its own projects and workspaces - no duplication. Basically I started a brand new project on my new laptop.

Thanks for the feedback with all of the versions you are using. You are hitting this problem:

                    https://issuetracker.springsource.com/browse/STS-3155

This is now fixed in the nightly update site. You can find the update site here:

                    http://dist.springsource.com/snapsho...s-ide/nightly/

The workaround is to use run-app only via 'Run As' menu which should work correctly in all version of GGTS.

                        Just sayin'

With reference to your download link:

                        http://dist.springsource.com/snapsho...s-ide/nightly/

This link delivers an object called "download". I thing that if the content-disposition mime type were more appropriately set, it would be delivered with a more appropriate filename and type. But, given the current situation, this might be a lot to ask for.

This link is an update site and not meant to be viewed in a browser, only in Eclipse/STS. It is hosted on S3, and so not each to change the mime type.

Of course - just a little overworked on this end

                            Thanks again.
