  • Trouble with STS and Maven

I have downloaded STS 3.1.0 M1 and I have configured my path to use Apache Maven 3.0.4 . When I run spring-webflow-2.3.1.RELEASE-with-dependencies from your examples, these did not work. When I select jsf-booking project and run SpringTools -> Update Maven Dependencies, STS generates:

SLF4J: Defaulting to no-operation (NOP) logger implementation

    Hey!

It looks like you are running Maven from the command line, is that correct?

From the error message it looks like Maven has trouble downloading the artifacts due to connection timeouts. Are you maybe behind a proxy or corporate firewall? If so, you need to configure Maven to use those proxy settings (http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-proxies.html).

    HTH,
    Martin

Sorry for being late in answering Martin. I appreciate your quick answer.
I had to build all projects from Spring MVC's demos at home not at work and there was not any problem to unload all jars into .m2\repository.

I had several errors, I may solve all once I solve one, I hope.

1.- booking-faces proyect.- It reports below error:

Build path is incomplete. Cannot find class file for org/springframework/security/access/vote/AffirmativeBased web-application-config.xml

        Any suggestions?

Thanks to FM5, I have found the answer to this problem. It seems when a jar is unloaded for some reason there are errors that are solved when the jar provocating error is removed and unloaded again.

However, I hope this is the last error I have to solve:

When I tried to deploy booking-portlet-mvc's project from Spring MVC examples, generates below error:

          java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.pluto.container.driver.PortletServlet

It seems this jar is not in .m2\repository, even though is in another directory.

How can I include it using STS?

            Hey!

Does the JAR appear in the Maven Dependencies section of your project?

Do you mean the view at "Project > Properties > Java Build Path > Libraries"? No, it does not appear in that view. As a matter of fact I run below command to search in all my hard drive the jar indicated and it is not there.

java -jar jarscan.jar -dir c:\ -package org.apache.pluto.container.driver -class PortletServlet

I do not know if this jar is required because I am ejecuting booking-portlet-mvc's project with application server Tomcat 6 and with another does not present this sort of trouble.

Thanks, Mr Martin I am a newbie with Spring MVC and Spring Security. I was doing some introspection to get this working. I am about to finish. I appreciate your support.

                  Regards.
