  • SSL Config Unable to Start in STS

    I have configured tc Server to use 8443 and SSL. I changed the server.xml settings to include:

    Code:
    <Connector
            executor="tomcatThreadPool"
            port="${bio.https.port}"
            protocol="org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Protocol"
            connectionTimeout="20000"
            redirectPort="${bio.https.port}"
            acceptCount="100"
            maxKeepAliveRequests="15"
            keystoreFile="${catalina.base}/conf/selfsigned.jks"
            keystorePass="changeit"
            keyAlias="tomcat"
            SSLEnabled="true"
            scheme="https"
            secure="true"/>
    The server starts okay and I can connect to it with another browser, but the INTERNAL browser within STS does not launch, which is why I think the server timesout. Before I tried to change to SSL, when starting, STS would display a browser window:

    Code:
    http://localhost:8080/myApp
    Now it doesn't display a browser window. But I need it to be:

    Code:
    https://localdev.mydomain.com:8443/myApp
    Any idea how to tell tc Server how to launch the browser and/or tell it is has launched correctly?

    Second, how can I get STS from overwriting the server.xml file in the tc Server conf directory? That is VERY annoying that I have to edit it often since something in STS is overwriting the file.

    tc Server Developer Edition v2.5
    STS Version 2.7.2.RELEASE
    Windows 7 64-bit

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Please take a look at this JIRA issue:

    STS-2181: STS will timeout waiting for tc server if it's not on 8080
    https://issuetracker.springsource.com/browse/STS-2181

    The server configuration needs to be edited in the Servers project in the workspace to prevent STS from overriding it.

    HTH,

    Steffen
