  • Starting MySQL when STS starts

    Hello All,

I'm using STS 2.7.1 and MySQL on an Apple MacBook Pro (Mac OS X version is 10.6.8). I don't want MySQL to start each time I start my machine but only when I do the development; hence I've unchecked the "Auto start MySQL on startup" box at System Preferences > MySQL.

I was wondering if there is any way in STS to start MySQL when STS starts. That would save me to remind myself to start MySQL when I start coding.

    Thanks,
    Paresh

Not in STS itself, but you could write a simple shell script that starts MySQL, then STS, waits for it to finish and then stops MySQL.

      Thanks dserodio

I was thinking about it but just wanted to know if there was any setting in STS itself to enable that.

      Thanks again!
