  • navigation from java files to beans in the xml

    Hi,

I'd like to know whether there's a way, in eclipse, to navigate easily from java code to beans in the xml.

In intellij, there's a designated icon in the overview ruler (left to the line numbers) that shows up next to the "public class MyBeanClass" line. Pressing that icon navigates to the MyBean declaration in the xml.
Also when BeanClass1 refers BeanClass2, the getter/setter of BeanClass2 in BeanClass1's java file has an icon that navigates to that reference declaration in the xml (to the <property> tag of BeanClass2 under <bean> tag of BeanClass1).

Does STS supply these features? If it does, how do I enable them?

    Thanks,
    Yair

I don't think there is this kind of navigation realized in STS at the moment. Navigation works from the XML file to the java source via the typical Eclipse hyperlinking feature, but not the other way around. I've added a JIRA issue to add this kind of navigation:
    https://jira.springsource.org/browse/IDE-1214

    Cheers,

Great, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks!

I've already voted for it (I don't know if you work with the votes - but I voted anyway (-: ).
