  • does global-method-security create a default AccessDecisionManager?

It seems as if the <global-method-security> element creates a default AccessDecisionManager if you don't specify a reference to one (i'm pretty sure about this but have not bothered to check the source). At first I thought it might find one if it was defined in the context.

It might be good to mention in the docs (section 2.4.1), as I have an AccessDecisionManager, but was wondering why all of my @Secured methods were failing for no apparent reason, until I read this post:

My methods are secured by permissions using the prefix PERM_ instead of ROLE_.
