  • Acegi Security and WebSphere v4

    All,

WebSphere v4 uses the servlet 2.2 specification, which does not support filters. Acegi Security is Filter based. Is it possible to use Acegi Security in WebSphere v4? Is there, by any chance, a servlet-to-bean-proxy similar to the filter-to-bean-proxy used in Acegi Security?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Sorry, Acegi Security requires its filters for AOPing web requests, implementing authentication mechanisms (remember me, BASIC, Digest, form, CAS, X509 etc etc etc), and managing the ContextHolder. If you wrote your own Servlet-based authentication mechanism, and could wrap your ContextHolder management in an abstract servlet, you could use Acegi Security without filters.
