  • Acegi without scriptlets

    Hello,
I'm rather new with acegi, i'd like to ask is it possible, out-of-the-box, to
create the acegi login screen without scriptlets?
from the example war (acegi-security-sample-tutorial.war) in the 1.0.3 distribution, the acegilogin.jsp uses a lot of scriptlet coding.
    so the questions are
    a) it is possible?
    b) if it is, where can i get the example?
thank you, you guys are great.

The scriptlets are there because they are the single most compatible approach. If you can run JSPs, you can handle scriptlets. The JSTL stuff wasn't supported until later versions of the servlet spec.

That being said, you can very easily convert those to use JSTL. You can access most of the values in those jsp pages using ${param.blah}, ${sessionScope.blah}, and ${requestScope.blah}.

    Here's a nice little reference...

You don't need to use scriptlets, all you need to do is post to the right URL with the username and password being stored under known keys.

Or use Basic Authentication from another app.

Of couse, an HTML page works great also.
