  • Saving langId during multiple log-in attempts

When a user first navigates to our home page the site will display either in English or French; depending upon the langId in the URL. The problem is that if the user makes more than one log in attempt the site defaults to English.

I was able to create a filter which runs before the Spring Security filters and capture the langId; that way the home page retains the French language after the initial failed log in. After the first one though the langId is gone and the page defaults to English. If I use a CookieLocaleResolver this fixes the issue and all attempts are now French, but what if the user turns cookies off? Is there a way to retain the langId in session or during subsequent requests?

I posted about this here, but wanted to post here as well to cover my bases.
