  • Controlling how Roo manages .properties files?

I've been banging my head against this one for a bit, so I thought I'd throw it out to the forum to see if anyone knows how to deal with it.

I've got an entity that is named "AIDocument" to avoid collisions with the DOM Document class. All is fine and dandy, but the labels that Roo has come up with for the controller scaffolding are not what I want displayed in the UI (It's displaying "A I Document" instead of "Document"). When I manually go and update the label text in the application.properties file, Roo doesn't complain - but when Roo starts up the next time, it scans the project and I see this line displayed:

    Managed SRC_MAIN_WEBAPP/WEB-INF/i18n/application.properties

Aargh. Roo just went and reverted the labels.

Is there any way to control this behavior?

This looks like it is not quite working as intended. Roo should only create new entries if a key does not exist yet, thereby giving you freedom to customize labels. Please open a Jira ticket (maybe an improvement ticket) so I can attend to it soon.

I have fixed this so it will be included in the Roo 1.1 M3 release.
