  • newb: is Roo a right tool for the work?

    Hi,

I am maintaining big java project (which is not a Spring project and is using reflection rather heavily and I am under constant pressure, so proper refactoring is out of the question for the time being). Adding features to it involves making copies of existing files and snippets and changing names in hundreds of places. I wrote some Velocity templates to automate the process a little bit, but the problem is that I have to manually open like 50 files and insert generated snippets.

    My questions are:
    1. How Roo can help me?
    2. I understand I have to develop an add-on specific to my code, but can not find any docs and/or examples? Where should I look?
upd: Found andrews' answer to my second question here: http://forum.springsource.org/showthread.php?t=92115,

    Thanks in advance

Doesn't sound like Roo is right for you. Personally I'd take a look at sed for that sort of thing. :-)
