  • Problems with maven dependencies

Hello everybody... I have been playing around with Roo and i implemented the PizzaShop application succesfully at home, using my internet conection. I tried to reply all the process at work but I am having problems downloading some maven dependencies due to proxy restrictions. How can I change the pom.xml or can I use another maven repository?

You will need to configure proxy settings in Maven. Please take a look here: http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-proxies.html

Thanks a lot Stefan. I had already tried that, but I still have problems trying to access the repository, including pom and jar files, even from browsers. I suppose the proxy must have some restriction about the kind of files allowed to be downloaded. Is there any option to use maven's default repository ?

I mean, there are many dependencies like this one "com.springsource.org.apache.commons.logging" that i suppose references the standard libraries... Why does Roo uses a different repository for those libraries?

      Again, thanks a lot.

We use the SpringSource Enterprise Bundle Repository for all JARs in Roo-built projects. This ensures they are all quality checked, properly versioned and OSGi friendly. The naming convention explanation be found at http://www.springsource.com/repository/app/faq#q13.

Thanks a lot Alex. I just read the explanation and now it's clear for me why we need SpringSource Repository.
