  • JAVA_HOME is not defined correctly

    Trying to work through this page:

    Got to:
    roo> perform test
    Error: JAVA_HOME is not defined correctly.
    We cannot execute
    roo> quit

    Not sure what the problem is. Here is what I checked afterward:

    $ echo $JAVA_HOME
    $ mvn -version
    Apache Maven 2.2.1 (r801777; 2009-08-06 14:16:01-0500)
    Java version: 1.6.0_17
    Java home: /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_17/jre
    Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: UTF-8
    OS name: "linux" version: "" arch: "i386" Family: "unix"
    $ java -version
    java version "1.6.0_17"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 14.3-b01, mixed mode)

    Everything looks correct here. Any ideas?

    You're probably running into bug
    The environment, incl. JAVA_HOME, is not passed to the process that's spawned to run mvn when using the 'perform' command. It's fixed in trunk, so you could build Roo yourself, but you could also quickly patch your mvn script to set the JAVA_HOME env var itself as a temporary workaround I guess.
