  • Should "all" common jars be available through plugins?

This may be a little naive, but i really like the way I can issue a spring roo command and it will add the relevant jars to the maven build. Even if no code is generated for me I find this helpful.

In fact I'd like to see the same functionality for almost ALL common jars that people use.

Is this something other people would find useful? Does it exist already? How would we determine what jars should go in the plugin?

Roo has various Maven commands, including the ability to add and remove dependencies using their Maven coordinates. Is this what you meant?

It is very close, thanks. I hadn't seen that before.

I was thinking more along the lines of "dependancy add apache_jmx", "dependancy add codehaus_workflow", so that the plugin could pick appropriate versions, but this should be fine. Thanks!
