  • Locating the platform mbean server

    Hi!

I'm trying to use ConnectorServerFactoryBean to expose the platform mbean server. When starting up, JmxUtils.locateMBeanServer(null) never returns the platform mbean server as MBeanServerFactory.findMBeanServer(null) always finds at least one MBean server.

Obviously I can create a factory bean to supply the platform MBean server to my ConnectorServerFactoryBean but I'm wondering if I have missed a simpler approach.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Locating the Platform MBean Server

I am not familiar with any way to guarantee accessing the platform MBeanServer other than ManagementFactory.getPlatformMBeanServer(). The e-mail thread JMX - Standard Way to Access MBean Server talks about how Spring accesses the Platform MBeanServer and confirms the value of using ManagementFactory.getPlatformMBeanServer().
