  • Using JMS with XA transactions in a standalone application

    Hello,

I use JMS in a standalone application with XA transactions. In the documentation is written, that JmsTemplate can be used with JtaTransactionManager and an XA-capable JMS ConnectionFactory (see 14.3.1). But I can't find such a connection factory for a standalone application.

I think, such a factory has to be initialized with a XAConnectionFactory for example from the JNDI and a JtaTransactionManager. The factory should produces wrapped connections, that couples the XA-Connection and the transaction manager.

Has anybody an idee, if this assumption is right? Or is there another way to solve this problem?

    Thanks,
    Swen

    Swen,

The JMS provider you are using will provide implementations of XAConnectionFactory. If the standalone JMS provider you are using doesn't support XA then I recommend that you take a look at ActiveMQ (activemq.codehaus.org).
