  • Is it right use case for SI ?

    Dear colleagues,

Never used SI before and would like your opinion is it applicable to the following task :

Incoming events are records in database table. Events processing should be invoked periodically by timer. Each invocation reads all events that belongs to floating recent timeframe, say, one hour back from current system time. For each event, we need to send plain HTTP request to given address and get a response . If response contains success flag, we remove event record from database. Otherwise leave it for further iterations, until it is procesed successfully or gone behind the timeframe.

Process is event-driven and involves messaging , but on the other hand it is synchronous and deals with acknowledgements which does not meet the nature of SI - or not ?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I'd say this is right in the Spring Integration sweet spot. You might get away with just a scheduled solution because of the simplicity, but if you see any complication in requirements whatsoever you'll be glad you picked the right framework.
