  • File Inbound Channel Adapter Problem

    Hi all,

I'm using a file:inbound-channel-adapter for my integration infrastructure and I'm looking that when the filter doesn't find any file the adapter sends a null file to the channel.
How can I change this configuration?

    Thanks,

    NEStor

You are suggesting that the default behavior should be no message sent at all, correct? I would agree with that.

Could you please submit an issue in JIRA for this?

Actually, I just created this issue:
      http://jira.springframework.org/browse/INT-546

Can you verify that is the same issue you are seeing?

      Thanks,
      Mark

        Thanks Mark,

Mainly my problem is that even if the filter doesn't find any valid file, it sends a message to the channel. Not only if the directory is empty.

The exception I can see in the channel error is NullReferenceException. But maybe internally spring do some other actions ...

So I would add to the JIRA:
FileListFilters throw an IllegalArgumentException when the polled directory is empty or the filter doesn't find any valid file.

I'm not sure if I'm in the correct way ... isn't it?

I'm a bit confused, but the issue is fixed. nestabur, can you check with the latest head if you still have the same problem?

If you do it would be really helpful if you added your code here so we can reproduce it.
