  • MongoDB: question about WriteConcern init

    It seems that there is a potential compatibility issue with spring data and the upcoming 2.7 mongodb driver.
    Trying to track it down but I cannot seem to find where in the code the WriteConcern is instantiated.
    From my understanding, in the template you specify something like:
    <property name="writeConcern" value="FSYNC_SAFE" />
    This in turns gets translated into the WriteConcern.FSYNC_SAFE instance.
    But with the 2.7 driver, a WriteConcern can take a String for the "w" parameter.
    And somehow it seems that the spring framework is doing that instead, basically 'new WriteConcern("FSYNC_SAFE")'.
    Any pointer to the code would be appreciated.

    It looks like this could cause problems - could you raise a JIRA issue here -- https://jira.springsource.org/browse/DATAMONGO

    Right now we depend on the 2.6.5 driver but we do need to be prepared for 2.7.0.
