  • Spring LDAP 1.3 Multiple JVM Support

Is Spring LDAP targeted for multiple JVM's or just Sun's JVM?

I find three classes with references to com.sun packages. They are SortControlDirContextProcessor, AbstractContextSource, and PagedResultsRequestControl. Out of the references in these three classes it looks like only the default context factory can be overridden by setter injection. Is my understanding correct that I would have to modify the implementation to use this package on another JVM besides Sun's? (Assuming use of the relevant functionality like pooling.)

These references are only dynamic. The com.sun class is loaded using Class.forName only if the javax.naming.ldap class is not available (as may happen in pre-Java5 environments). In other words, you should not be forced to change the implementation.
