  • Password history maintenence using LDAP

    Hi friends,

I am new to Spring-LDAP and I have no idea how to configure an attribute to store multiple values. My requirement is for change password and for that I have to save previous 5 passwords of the user and if the new password belongs to any of those 5 passwords I have to throw the exception. Can anyone please help me in this !!!!!

You could look into the request control for password policy (see 4.2.2 Password History). If your LDAP server supports this control, you're well on your way already. Plus you get the added benefit of the following features:
    • Password Guessing Limit
    • Password Expiration, Expiration Warning, and Grace Authentications
    • Password Minimum Age
    • Password Quality and Minimum length
    • User Defined Passwords
    • Password Change after Reset
    • Safe Modification

All you need to make the lives of your users miserable.
