  • EHCache + Hibernate + Spring

I'm having some problems using EHCache with hibernate.

After a period of time I start receiving these messages:

java.lang.IllegalStateException: The com.ccfone.columbia.domain.MerchantAccountStatus Cache is not alive.
    at net.sf.ehcache.Cache.checkStatus(

I have several applications that are all using hibernate: two web applications and a set of MessageDrivenBeans.

Everything seems to work fine when only running the web applications.

Any thoughts? Anyone have experience running EHCache + Hibernate inside of MDBs.

I had the exact problem but with a web application. I posted the question on Acegi forums (as the cache was used with acegi) and the EhCache but I got no reply. I assume ehcache contains an initialization bug that appears when the cache is invalidated by timeout or somthing like that but the cache manager is not informed.
I'm using EhCache 1.1. You can also post this message on the EhCache forums maybe the maintainer will take a look at it.
